Singapore Orders 12 Additional F-15SG Fighters
On October 22, 2007, Singapore's Ministry of Defence exercised the option to purchase eight more Boeing F-15SG fighters which was part of the original contract announced in December 2005 for 12 aircraft. Along with this buy, an additional order for four F-15SGs was made.
The Boeing F-15SG is a derivative of the U.S. Air Force's F-15E Strike Eagle, upgraded and tailored to Republic of Singare Air Force's requirements. Like Korea's F-15K, the F-15SG will be powered by General Electric F110-GE-129C engines.
The first batch of 12 fighters ordered in 2005 are scheduled for delivery in 2008/2009. The additional 12 will be delivered from 2010 onwards.
