04 NovFirst F-35C lands aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carrier
USS NIMITZ, AT SEA -- The Navy made aviation history Nov. 3 as an F-35C Lightning II carrier variant Joint Strike Fighter conducted its first arrested landing aboard an aircraft carrier off the coast of San Diego.

Navy test pilot Cmdr. Tony Wilson landed F-35C test aircraft CF-03 at 12:18 p.m. aboard USS Nimitz's (CVN 68) flight deck.

The arrested landing is part of initial at-sea Developmental Testing I (DT-I) for the F-35C, which commenced Nov. 3 and is expected to last two weeks.

Switzerland's defence department has cancelled Russian participation in the upcoming AIR14 air show at Payerne. The Russian Knights aerobatic display team flying Su-27 fighters had been scheduled to take part in the first weekend of the air show celebrating 100 years of Swiss military aviation, 50 years of the Patrouille Suisse, and 25 years of the PC-7 Team.

In three separate flight tests on May 27, Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft demonstrated air-to-air combat capability, completed the first flight test with the next level software load and accomplished a landing at the maximum test speed and drop rate.
02 MarCanadian Forces CF-18 Hornet Demo coming to Europe
The Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team is coming to Europe this year. The CF-18 Hornet solo display will take part in the AIR14 air show at Payerne celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force on 30-31 August and 6-7 September, followed by the Belgian Air Force Days at Kleine Brogel on 13-14 September, 2014.
04 JanU.S. Air Force F-15s take over Baltic Air Policing mission
Ministry of National Defense Republic of Lithuania news release --- On January 3 Belgium’s air contingent handed over NATO’s mission of ensuring security in the airspace of the Baltic States to air personnel of the United States of America operating four F-15C Eagle fighter-jets at a formal changeover ceremony at Šiauliai Air Base of the Lithuanian Air Force.
