Portuguese C-212 Aviocar 50th anniversary special markings

CASA C-212-100 Aviocar serial 16507 (c/n A2-3-28) of the Portuguese Air Force (Força Aérea Portuguesa - FAP) received a special colour scheme to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of 502 Squadron (Esquadra 502). 16507 is the first ever Portuguese Aviocar that is decorated with special markings.

The pictures were taken on the 12th of March 2005, during the celebration of 502 Sqn. 50th Anniversary at its homebase Sintra AB. Esquadra 502, nicknamed "Elefantes" (Elephants), equipped with the CASA C-212-100 Aviocar is tasked with tactical air transport operations (primary mission) and, as secondary missions, provide additional pilot training in multi-engine aircraft and navigation training, execute search and rescue operations and execute general air transport operations.
