Introduction

MILAVIA stands for military aviation. On this website you can find information, pictures, downloads and links related to military aviation. I have started with focusing on modern combat aircraft, with in particular the main fighters, ground attack aircraft and bombers that are in service today. MILAVIA is a personal project by me, Niels Hillebrand. I have created this website as part of my hobby, not for any commercial purpose.

More About MILAVIA Website

MILAVIA is a personal website by Niels Hillebrand devoted to military aviation. Unlike most other military aviation pages MILAVIA does not provide technical specifications or pictures only. I am trying to compose pages for as many aircraft as possible, complete with description, history, spefications, pictures, related links and more.
The website was planned to go online in 2001 but problems with the first design delayed the release until January 2002. Because of the broad subject the website still needed a lot of work.
In May 2002 I decided it was a mission impossible for me. I abandoned my ideas for an airforce directory, weapon directory and frequently updated aviation news. It is better to concentrate on the aircraft first. When I have the most important military jets in the directory I plan to start on the airforce directory. It would be the best if I can find any editors for this directory because the airforce you know the best is your own country's airforce. If you are interested in making an overview of your country's airforce for this website, please e-mail me!
This website is designed for Internet Explorer 6 and optimized for a 1024*768 resolution. You will need to have javascript enabled and the Flash plug-in installed. The website can also be viewed properly with Internet Explorer 5.x or a 800*600 resolution. With Netscape 6 there are some visual problems with the design. Opera is not recommended, as it displays tables and frames different and maintains its own standard for the page margins. Also the decorative images on the pages are not always shown in these browsers. Internet Explorer can be downloaded for free at http://www.microsoft.com.

About MILAVIA Webmaster

My name is Niels Hillebrand. I live in the south east of the Netherlands. I am currently a student at the University of Technology in Eindhoven. My biggest hobby is military aviation. My first website was called 'Salty's Homepage' hosted by Fortunecity and devoted to some of the most important fighters in service today. After having tried to build some other websites I decided to make a website dedicated to the Panavia Tornado (panaviatornado.cjb.net) but before I even finished it I wanted to contribute more than just one website about a single aircraft half the visitors is not even interested in. Then I started to work on the MILAVIA website. I designed most of this website myself.
