The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) August 1st air demonstration team performs displays using six Chengdu J-10 fighters.

In 1962 the air demonstration team was established using Shenyang J-5 jets and named August 1st, the date on which the People's Liberation Army was founded in 1927. Later the team used various Chengdu J-7 variants until receiving the J-10 in 2009. The J-10s are painted in a blue, white and red paint scheme. Airshow appearances are usually limited to the Air Show China at Zhuhai, but in 2013 the August 1st team attended the Moscow Air and Space Salon (MAKS) in Russia.
