The Vulcan to the Sky Trust keeps the last airworthy Vulcan flying, named "The Spirit of Great Britain". The Avro Vulcan XH558 was the twelfth improved Vulcan B.Mk2 and became the first Mk.2 to be delivered to the Royal Air Force in July 1960. Having served in the V-bomber force as nuclear deterrent, XH558 continued flying on from 1986 to 1993 as the single RAF Display Vulcan after the Vulcan had been retired from the nuclear role. XH558 was the last Vulcan to leave RAF service, flight was on 23rd March 1993 to Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in Leicestershire. 14 years and over £7 million later, Vulcan XH558 was returned to flight on 18 October 2007, and entered the air display circuit in 2008.
