Brazil to Buy Six UH-60L Blackhawk Helicopters
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Brazil of UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters as well as associated equipment and services.
The Government of Brazil has requested a possible sale of six UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters with 12 T-700-GE-701C engines, two spare T-700-GE-701C engines, warranty, external hoist kits, spare and repair parts, tools and support equipment, publications and technical data, personnel training and training equipment, contractor engineering and technical support services and other related elements of logistics support. The total value, if all options are exercised, could be as high as $300 million.
The Brazilian Air Force already ordered six UH-60L Blackhawks. The first of which was formally handed over at Huntsville, Alabama, on July 26, 2006, before arriving at Manaus Air Base on August 7, 2006.
