On 31st July, 2007, EADS announced that the Spanish Air Force has recently purchased two additional EADS/CASA C-295 military transport aircraft. The new order will bring the total Spanish Air Force C-295 fleet up to 13 aircraft. Initially nine aircraft had been ordered in December 2000, with two more in December 2005 and December 2006.
